I will read you the resolution that, given that the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters represents a significant challenge for the Township of Alfred des Plantagenais, and considering that the training requirements are increasingly demanding and require a considerable investment of time, and that appropriate compensation is necessary to recognize this commitment as well as the risks associated with the position in order to ensure public safety, it is resolved that this report be accepted by the council as presented; it is also resolved that the hourly salary scale for volunteer firefighters presented in Appendix 1 of this report be adopted; it is also resolved that the hourly rate for volunteer firefighters be added to the salary scale for firefighters employed by the municipality.
