Le conseil du district de Summerland tient une audition publique afin de recueillir des commentaires sur le règlement n° 2026-008, qui adopterait un nouveau Plan officiel de la communauté intitulé « Growing Forward 2046 ». Le règlement a été modifié depuis la première lecture, notamment par le retrait de 30 propriétés de la limite de croissance urbaine (Urban Growth Boundary) suite aux directives de l'Agricultural Land Commission. Le conseil pourra accorder la troisième lecture et adopter le plan après l'audition.

This Public Hearing is being held pursuant to Section 465 of the Local
Government Act.
All members of the public will be given a reasonable time to be heard or to
present written submissions respecting matters contained in the bylaw that
is the subject of this hearing. All information, correspondence, petitions or
reports that have been received by noon today concerning the subject
bylaw have been circulated to Council and are available to the public as part
of the meeting package.
Staff will provide their report, followed by an opportunity for the applicant to
speak. Members of the public who have pre-registered to speak have been
added to the Speakers List in the order that requests were received.

Each year, in accordance with Section 197 of the Community Charter, Council must adopt a tax rates
bylaw prior to May 15th. The proposed tax rates bylaw has been prepared in accordance with the
District’s taxation policy which states:
“The District will attempt to keep the proportional share of revenue from property value
taxes at a level similar to historical amounts, adjusted for non-market changes and the
changing priorities of Council.”

Le District de Summerland tient une audition publique concernant une demande d'exclusion d'environ 0,77 ha (1,9 ac) du 7207 Kirk Avenue de la Réserve de terres agricoles (RAA). L'exclusion permettrait un lotissement potentiel et des unités d'habitation supplémentaires au-delà des limites actuelles de la RAA. Le demandeur propose également de regrouper trois parcelles afin de maintenir les 6,62 ha restants dans la RAA en tant qu'exploitation agricole unique. Le Conseil décidera, après l'audition, s'il convient de transmettre la demande à la Commission des terres agricoles.

This Public Hearing is being held pursuant to Section 29(2) of the
Agricultural Land Commission Act and in accordance with Section 465 of
the Local Government Act.
All members of the public will be given a reasonable time to be heard or to
present written submissions respecting matters contained in the application
that is the subject of this hearing. All information, correspondence, petitions
or reports that have been received by noon today concerning the proposal
have been circulated to Council and are available to the public as part of the
meeting package.
