[clears throat] I guess uh through the chair of public works, I I guess I would just mention that the potholes are starting to appear and actually completely lost the tail light the other day going down 176 and uh so the potholes are starting to appear. Thanks, Councelor Estz. >> Thank you to the chair and I have an item on the agenda, but other than that, I have nothing to report. And good morning, Foothills County. Thank you. >> And for myself, everything looks good in division one. Just a reminder to everybody that taxes are due tomorrow. Most wonderful time of the year is what they say. Thank you and good morning. Welcome to Foothills County Council meeting for September 23rd, 2026. I'll call the meeting to order. First up is approval of the agenda. I don't know of any emergent items, so I'd look for a motion to approve the agenda. Councelor Estz gives us that. All in favor? Motion carries. Uh let's go to our round table. Anything for our departments? We'll go to start with councelor Kendall. Anything? >> Thank you, Mr. Chair. I do have a couple of things here. Um just to follow up about the grass I on Racetrack Road and 274 and 176. Um I had mentioned that last week and I happened to drive there again. on Sunday and it was not done so possibly it's been done but just uh since then but just an update on that if possible. >> Sure. Thank you for the question through the chair to to council. They're they're in that area right now mowing so like it's kind of it's very soon it's going to be mowed. So by next week it should be mowed. >> Perfect. And another question for you I believe as well. Um, I had a resident and I visited this site on 176th Street West. So, that same area, there's um a few trees that are kind of dying and the branches are even maybe just hung up and ready to fall down. So, just 176 is just quite short. So, you should be able to see them. I could put you in contact with the resident if needed. Um and also as you're coming south from the 176 from the crossroads there um there's a lot of caragana in the ditch and as you come up this little hill …

Um, I had a a contact from a resident who lives on 762 regarding the kidney march sign [snorts] that's been posted on one of her approaches. And I believe we brought this up uh when we were discussing the kidney march before we broke that um maybe some of these pit stops were like do they have to notify residents. Anyways, um she is just wondering if you know how many days and who cleans up afterwards. Will there be portaotties? And you know with this being agricultural access, you know, somebody may be trying to move equipment or cattle out of these accesses and the kidney march just kind of takes over. So there's that. Do you want me to just continue on with all mine or wait for a response? >> Um maybe if if there's a response maybe. Okay, that' be a good time to pause. >> Morning, council. Uh through the floor to councelor Kendall. Uh I will have one of the officers look into the signs and we will take care of it. Okay. Uh also had a call from a resident regarding uh the washboard on Rat Road. Sorry, I don't know the exact number. from Turner Valley North …

And uh the very next day he sent an email that you had completed that. So, um, but he's also saying 370th Avenue needs to be redone. So, oh, and that you will inspect that. So, he thanks you for for doing that. Um, I also had another request for some grading of a washboard issue on it's kind of a steep hill west of Millerville just off 5493 122nd Avenue West. It's where the road kind of jogs up and then steeply back to the west. And then further up that road, 306th Avenue West, the big hill going up uh to the east there. So both kind of washboardy. >> Um good morning Foothills. Yeah, actually I believe the greater was at that road yesterday. So >> Oh, perfect. Great. Good. Good morning. Welcome to Foothills County Council meeting for Wednesday, July 8, 2026. I'll call the meeting to order. Uh we do have an agenda in front of us. Um there was um I'm sorry I don't have it in front of me. There was a couple of emergent items we were looking at. Who had those? >> B12 and B6. D12. >> So D12 that is on by Director Hemingway. So can you director, can you speak to the emergent nature of D12? >> Thank you sir. I would like to uh ask council to consider allowing this item to come before you today as it's our last council day before the August 26 meeting. And if council were to be able to provide the motion I'm requesting, it would be quite meaningful for us with respect to awarding a contract in um or beginning of August late July. So the timing of the awarding of contract does dictate that I would like council to consider this decision today. Um if without that ability we are going to um have to consider awarding the contract in the fall and that pushes our timing off quite badly. Okay. Would anybody like to give a deputy evil? Go ahead. >> I would make a motion to bring this on as an emergent item as item D12. >> Okay. We have that motion from Deputy O for adding of emergent uh D12. I don't see anybody else. All in favor? That motion carries. And then also E6 I believe director Hemingway emergent nature of this. >> Thank you. This isn't a subdivision item. We're looking for a decision on a subdivision that where council refused the land use application …

And uh for division one just through to manager of parks and recreation. So had a graduation event yesterday and a resident lives close to Dinton Park came and uh sought me out to say that the county is doing an amazing job looking after Dinton Park and he was very appreciative. So just want to pass that along. Thank you. And uh just a question I guess. So one week away from Canada Day. Our parks are going to be uh very busy throughout. Uh, I trust we're on schedule to get everything looking sharp and tidy. >> I believe so. And that ASB's been doing a decent job this year for sure. Um, it'll just be depend on the rain. So we look uh just a reminder this has to be unanimous to add it to the agenda as emergent. Uh so we have the motion to add it from council mchugh. All in favor? That motion carries. And the second request is Heritage Point air compressor. Uh Dr. Shier, would you speak to why this is emerging today? >> Yeah, good morning Reeve. Good morning council. The fire department uh has a failure of a critical piece of equipment. Their self-contained breathing apparatus uh currently went down. Um it's out of service. Um so this has uh created a risk to uh our essential operations. So we request that this be added to today's agenda as an emergent item so we can address that issue. Thank you. >> Okay. Thank you for that. Uh go to council. Anybody like to give that motion to add it as emergent? …
