Le comité recommandera sur le zonage d'un refuge pour animaux et une dérogation de suite
Le Comité spécial de planification communautaire examinera deux points : un permis de dérogation de développement pour permettre une suite secondaire détachée au 1010 Matheson Lake Park Drive avec une séparation de 24,1 m (dépassant le maximum de 15 m), et une demande de modification de zonage pour le 3280 Woodruff Road afin de faciliter l'utilisation d'un refuge pour animaux par la Victoria Humane Society. Le comité recommandera au Conseil s'il convient de procéder à la notification publique ou de refuser la dérogation, et s'il convient de procéder aux renvois pour la modification du zonage.
- Permis de dérogation de développement DVP 26-02 pour le 1010 Matheson Lake Park Drive afin de modifier l'article 23(3)(c) du règlement sur l'utilisation des sols concernant la distance d'une suite secondaire détachée

Le Conseil approuve un amendement à la Politique du Fonds de réserve pour ajouter une Réserve de terres tampon.

I thank Mayor and Council for having a second look at the Sue Big Oil proposition.
I am strongly in favor of supporting this action.
The costs of preparing for and dealing
with fires, floods, drought, and extreme weather are mounting in British Columbia. We
know that the fossil fuel industry is a huge contributor to climate change. This is a matter
of accountability and fairness.
It's also a matter of survival.
Some people say that a small municipality like Metchosin can't make a difference. I

I am writing regarding the renewed discussion around pursuing a Dark Sky Community
designation for the District of Metchosin. Council may recall that this proposal previously
came before Council and at that time, Council requested additional information.
During our HSASC discussions, committee members requested that additional information be
provided. Mr. Ted White, who was a member of HCASC at that time, indicated that DarkSky
International would not provide detailed information without payment of the application fee.

The council approved a $200,000 allocation from the UBCM Community Emergency Preparedness Fund for the 2026 FireSmart program and authorized the CAO to execute related agreements. Removal of Invasive plants:
I like that it is made clear that property owners are responsible for removal of invasive
plants on their land.
I urge that the District will do it's very best to remove invasives on public land.
I think it's fair that, after warning, the District can do the removal and bill the owner
accordingly.
I like that unpaid fines can be added to property taxes.
