Council to decide on three rezoning applications, including one approval and two deferrals
Highlands East Council is holding a regular meeting that includes a public planning meeting to consider three rezoning applications. The council is expected to approve the Chorley/Gordon rezoning, defer the Smillie/Eyes and Townley applications pending additional documents, and also address routine reports, a firefighter appointment, a surplus ATV declaration, and several funding and operational items.

Regular Meeting of Council
Le conseil votera sur le renouvellement de l'assurance de 444 791 $ et le contrat d'étude routière de 60 934 $.
Cette réunion ordinaire du conseil de Highlands East comprend des décisions sur plusieurs contrats et amendements à des règlements municipaux. Le conseil examinera l'approbation d'un renouvellement d'assurance avec BFL Canada pour 444 791 $, un contrat d'étude des besoins routiers avec Jp2G Consultants Inc. pour 60 934 $, ainsi qu'un transfert de 8 600 $ de la réserve pour l'achat d'iPads destinés au département de l'urbanisme (Building Department). Special Meeting of Council
Le conseil entend une présentation de l'EORN sur les options financières et de gouvernance à long terme
Cette réunion spéciale est une séance facilitée avec le Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) afin de recueillir les commentaires du conseil sur une étude de la structure de gouvernance et de l'abordabilité à l'échelle de la communauté pour le comté de Haliburton. Le conseil discutera des pressions fiscales, de la prestation de services et des approches potentielles à long terme, mais aucune décision n'est prise. L'étude se poursuit jusqu'au 31 juillet 2026 et informera les futurs conseils.
